Öz

The aim of this study is to determine and evaluate causes of truancy of students who attend general high schools, and vocational and technical high schools in Ankara. Qualitative research technique was used to collect, analyze and interpret data and technically content analysis was used in this research. A semi-structured interview schedule prepared in accordance with the qualitative research approach is used as a data collection tool. Causes of truancy were determined as school management, teachers, parents, personal and friends according to results. Opinions of general high-schoolers are different from opinions of vocational-technical highschoolers although these five causes are fundamental factors. Teacher is the most important factor for truancy and parents is the weakest factor for truancy

Lise Öğrencilerinin Okuldan Kaçma Nedenlerinin Değerlendirilmesi

Öz

Öz: Bu çalışmanın amacı, Ankara ili merkez ilçelerinde bulunan genel ve mesleki-teknik liselerde öğrenim gören öğrencilerin okuldan kaçma nedenlerini belirlemektir. Nitel araştırma yöntemi kullanılan çalışmaya, Ankara ilinin üç merkez ilçesinin genel lise, meslek lisesi ve endüstri meslek lisesinde öğrenim gören kırk beş öğrenci katılmıştır. Araştırmada literatür çalışmasında sonra hazırlanan yarı yapılandırılmış bir görüşme formu kullanılmış ve elde edilen veriler içerik analiziyle çözümlenmiştir. Elde edilen verilere göre, öğrencilerin okuldan kaçma nedenlerinin okul yönetimi, öğretmen, aile, bireysel ve arkadaş kaynaklı olduğu belirlenmiştir. Belirlenen bu nedenler genel lise ve mesleki liselerde temel kaynak olmasına karşın, genel lise ve meslek lisesi öğrencilerinin aynı nedenleri farklı gerekçelerle de açıklamaktadırlar. Öğrencilerin en çok öğretmen tutum ve davranışlarından dolayı, en az ise ailevi nedenlerden dolayı okuldan kaçtıkları görülmektedir.
