Sosyal Ağ Platformu Wattpad Uygulamasını Kullanan Gençlerin Psikolojik Özelliklerinin Kişilerarası Duyarlılık ve Kendini Ayarlama Davranışları Açısından Araştırılması

Öz

Wattpad sosyal ağ uygulamasında üretilen romanlara ilişkin araştırmalar, roman kurgularının ergenlik dönemi ile ilgili literatürün problem davranışlar ve risk alma davranışlarını içerdiğini vurgularken, uygulamanın kullanıcısı gençlerin kitle iletişim araçları ve sosyal ağlardaki paylaşımları ise gençlerin tam tersi bir değerlendirme ile uygulamadaki paylaşımları sağlıklı problem çözme süreci olarak algıladıklarını göstermektedir. Bu durum ise uygulamanın kullanıcısı, takipçisi ya da kitle iletişim araçları yoluyla romanlar hakkında bilgi sahibi olan gençlerin, ilgili romanlar ve roman karakterlerine ilişkin olumlu algısını etkileyen dinamiklerden birinin kendi psikolojik özellikleri olabileceğini düşündürmüştür. Bu bağlamda, uygulamayı kullanan ya da takip eden gençler ile kullanmayan gençlerin kişilerarası duyarlılık ve kendini ayarlama özellikleri açısından farklılaşma gösterip göstermediğini tespit etmek araştırmanın ana amacı olarak belirlenmiştir. Araştırmanın verileri İstanbul İli Kadıköy ilçesi ortaokul ve liselerinde öğrenim görmekte olan 200 gence Kişilerarası Duyarlılık ve Genişletilmiş Kendini Ayarlama Ölçeği ile kişisel bilgi formu kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, Wattpad uygulamasını kullanan gençlerin, kullanmayanlara göre kişiler arası duyarlılık, kişiler arası kaygı ve bağımlılık puan ortalamalarının kullanmayanlara göre daha yüksek, kişilerarası sunumu düzenleyebilme becerilerinin puan ortalamalarının ise kullanmayanlardan daha düşük olduğu bulunmuştur p

Öz

Although relevant studies draw attention to the fact that novels produced in Wattpad application are brought out non-healthy problem solving behaviours such as non-healthy family-school-peer relations along with smoking, alcohol, substance abuse and violent behaviours within the context of risk taking behaviour in youth and information regarding early sexual experience, etc., sharing of young application users on mass communication tools and social networks display an entirely opposite evaluation. This study is based on the idea that one of the dynamics that affect the positive perception of the novels, and novel characters can be the young people’s own psychological characteristics who are the users, the followers or the ones who gain information regarding the novels via the mass media communication tools. Within this context, the main purpose of the study is to examine whether young people using or following the application display differentiation from young people who do not use the application in means of sensitivity and self-monitoring. The research, psychological characteristics of 200 students studying in secondary and high schools in Kadikoy district of Istanbul province depending on their application use or nonuse situations are examined by means of Personal Sensitivity and Expanded Self-Monitoring Scale with personal information form. It is found out that average points of individuals using Wattpad application in terms of interpersonal sensitivity, interpersonal anxiety and addiction compared to the nonusers are much higher, and that their average points in terms of interpersonal presentation arrangement skills compared to nonusers are much lower p
