DRACAENA CİNNABARİ REÇİNESİ VE TIBBİ OLARAK KULLANIMI

Öz

Antik dünyanın çok değerli bir ürünü olan Dracaena cinnebari (DC) ağacı “Ejderha ağacı”, “Ejder Kanı Ağacı”, “İki Kardeşin Kanı” ve Arabistan’da da “dammalachawin” veya “cinnebar” olarak bilinmektedir. Ejderhanın kanı, antik çağlardan beri birçok kültür tarafından ünlü bir geleneksel tıp olarak kullanılan koyu kırmızı bir reçinedir. “Ejderhanın kanı” terimi, genellikle halk tıbbında kullanılan granüller, toz, topaklar veya çubuklar olarak karşılaşılan kırmızımsı reçineli ürünleri ifade eder. Ejderhanın kanı (Dracaena) Yemen halk tıbbında dizanteri, ishal, kanama ve dış ülser tedavisinde kullanılmaktadır. Dracaena reçinesi güçlü vazokonstrüktif özelliklere sahiptir ve kas gevşetici olarak kullanılır. Ayrıca gonore, idrarın durması, sulu gözler ve küçük yanıkların tedavisinde kullanılmıştır. Dracaena cinnabarini’nin ayrıca antikanser, antiviral, antimikrobiyal, antioksidan, antidiyabetik ve antifugal gibi önemli özelliklere sahiptir.
