BİZANS VE PEÇENEKLER: PROBLEMİN TARİH YAZIMI

Öz

"Mykola Melnyk tarafından yazılan Bizans ve Peçenekler: Problemin Tarih Yazımı" isimli eser, Bizans İmparatorluğu'nun, yoğunlukla Karadeniz'in kuzeyinde ve Balkanlarda yaşamış olan göçebelerle olan ilişkilerinin tarih yazımını kronolojik olarak ele almıştır. Eser aynı zamanda tarih yazımı perspektiflerini, metotlarını ve buna etki eden koşulları inceleyerek, tarihçilik kapsamında geniş bir bakış açısı sunmaktadır. Eserde aynı zamanda bu zamana kadar çalışılmamış veya gözden kaçmış konulardan da bahsedilerek yeni araştırmacılara öneriler de sunulmuştur.

BYZANTIUM AND THE PECHENEGS: THE HISTORIOGRAPHY OF THE PROBLEM

Abstract

"Byzantium and the Pechenegs: The Historiography of the Problem", by Mykola Melnyk, examines chronologically the historiography of the Byzantine Empire's relations with the nomads who lived mainly north of the Black Sea and in the Balkans. The work also analyses the perspectives of historiography, methods and the conditions that influenced it, offering a broad perspective within the framework of historiography. At the same time, the work provides suggestions for new researchers by mentioning the topics that have not been studied or have been neglected.
