Development and Testing of an Augmented Reality-Supported Circuit Analysis Application

Abstract

This study explores the integration of augmented reality (AR) technology into engineering education, focusing on teaching processes in the field of electrical and electronic engineering. Traditional teaching methods based on physical models have several disadvantages such as high installation and maintenance costs, and limited accessibility for students. In this context, AR offers valuable opportunities to improve students' understanding of electrical topics and facilitate learning by making abstract concepts concrete. Accordingly, this study aims to develop and test a mobile AR application that includes 3D models and animations. The AR-supported circuit analysis application developed using Unity 3D, Vuforia and 3DS Max programs was tested with the students of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and it was concluded that it works smoothly on different devices.
