The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between bloks to spirituality, proactive career behavior, vitality, and negative gossip variables based on the theory of affective events and the affective shift model. The research was conducted on a sample of healthcare workers. Analysis was performed using data from 912 healthcare workers obtained through convenience and snowball sampling methods. AMOS 23 was used for confirmatory factor analysis, SPSS 22 for exploratory factor analysis and simple linear regression analysis, and PROCESS MACRO v3.4 for mediation effects (model 4) and situational mediation effects (model 7) analyses. The results of the study revealed a negative and significant relationship between blocks to spirituality and proactive career behavior. In this relationship, the vitality variable was found to partially mediate the negative impact of blocks to spirituality. It was concluded that negative gossip played a situational mediating role among these variables.
