This study examines the motivations and personality traits of tourists participating in rock climbing, a popular adventure tourism activity. In the study, participants were classified into four distinct personality types—B2, B1, A1, and A2—within the framework of the A-B personality model, based on the total scores of their responses to personality-related statements. Findings revealed that most climbers exhibited A1 traits, characterized by ambition and a competitive nature. Motivation was analysed through push-pull theory, identifying seven push factors (e.g., personal development, challenge, risk-taking) and four pull factors (e.g., destination features, novelty). Results indicated significant differences in motivations based on personality types; for instance, A1 individuals displayed higher risk-taking motivations, while B2 individuals prioritized personal development. These findings contribute to understanding personality-motivation interplay in adventure tourism, offering insights into targeted tourism strategies.
