This study aims to develop a reliable and valid scale to measure the concept of green leadership. Green leadership is a type of leadership that focuses on promoting environmental sustainability and reducing the negative impacts of organizations on the natural environment, and aims to integrate environmental responsibility and sustainability principles into business strategies. Green leadership, a subject that is increasingly emphasized in literature and practice, has a decisive importance in different sectors in terms of its contributions to environmental sustainability. In this study, the concept of green leadership, its dimensions, characteristics and results are designed by utilizing conceptual models in the literature and previous studies. In scale development, the method used by DeVellis (2017) was followed and as a result, the “Green Leadership Scale” consisting of 13 items and a single dimension with a Cronbach alpha value of 0.971 was developed.
