THE EFFECT OF THE SAFETY CLIMATE ON SECURITY PER-FORMANCE
Öz
Even if several measures for occupational health and safety have taken in recent years, the number of occupational accidents are still high. In this respect, the measurement of safety performance allows determining the organization’s occupational health. It also allows identification and improvement of the existing problem areas. Safety performance is influenced by many factors. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of the safety climate on security performance. In addition, demographic variables are examined how they distribute in the safety climate and safety performance value. In this context, the study is conducted on 457 employees in the manufacturing sector. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis are made in order to test the structural validity of the scale. According to the results of correlation and regression, safety climate positively affects safety performance.
