Öz

Mimarlık tarihi içerisinde geçmişe ait üretimlerin idealleştirilmelerinin, gerek doğrudan çağın gereksinimlerine uyarlanacak yetkin referanslar sağlamak, gerekse de dolaylı olarak çağdaş tezleri doğrulayacak bir altyapı oluşturmak için, bir basitleştirme sürecinden geçmiştir. Buna ilâveten, idealleştirmenin bir nevi basitleştirme olarak Batılı mimarlık geleneğinde yer almasının kökeninde Vitruvius’un yazılı kaynakları gösterilebilir. Bu noktada bugün “tip” denen özellikleri genel olarak belirlenmiş bir yapı imgesinin mimarlık tarihi kadar eski olduğunu, ancak “tipleştirme” denen kuramsal olgunun çok genel anlamda Vitruvius’un metniyle başladığı da söylenebilir. Bu makalede geleneğiin idealleştirmesinde bir kaynak olarak tip/tipleştirme kavramının korumacı örüntelerinden başlanarak modern mimarideki tip kavramına kadar ki uzantıları kuramsal içeriğe katkıları bağlamında değerlendirmeye alınmıştır.

TYPE/TYPIFICATION AS A THEORETICAL NOTION IN IDEALISATION OF TRADITION IN ARCHITECTURE

Öz

Idealisation of past artefacts in architectural history gets through a simplification process so as to provide competent references which adapted to epoch’s needs directly and to comprise a basis for affirming the contemporary theses implicitly. In addition, the root of idealisation as a kind of simplification in Western architectural tradition can indicates the written sources of Vitruvius. Herein, it can be said that a building image which is generally determined its feature’s called ‘type’ is old as architectural history as. However, it should be added that ‘typification’ as a theoretical notion begins with the Vitruvius’ text generally. In this study, the notions of type/typification as a source in the idealisation of tradition is evaluated in the context of theoretical contributions beginning with the preservationist approaches to the extents of type in the modern architecture.
