The increase in the number of higher education institutions in our country has created a competitive environment among these institutions,
leading students to consider various factors when selecting a higher education institution. One of these factors is student commitment. The
fact that students have become more selective in this regard has created a sense of commitment towards the higher education institution
they intend to choose during their period of study. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the commitment of students
studying at the Faculty of Education of a state university to their universities, because in the absence of institutional commitment, it
will not be possible for students to be successful and universities to reach the desired level. A total of 655 students from eight different
departments voluntarily participated in the study. A 14-item, 5-point Likert-type scale developed by Çınkır, Kurum, and Yıldız (2021) was used to gather data. The data were analyzed using ‘frequency analysis, ‘independent samples t-test’, ‘One-way Anova’ and ‘Post-hoc’
tests. According to the results obtained, it was determined that the majority of the participants had a “high” level of commitment to
the university. Although a statistically significant difference was observed on a departmental basis, no difference was observed regarding
gender and grade variables
