The aim of this research is to examine the
validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the Honesty
Scale. Psychology and values education in our country is
extremely limited studies to measure the honesty of literature and the like
have not been adapted to Turkish of this scale has been a source of motivation
for conducting this study. Participants were 313 undergreduate students
(139 were female and 174 were male) from Sakarya University. Descriptive survey
method was used in this study. In the results section confirmatory factor
analysis demonstrated that this scale yielded one factor, as original form and
that the uni-dimensional model was well fit and the original factor structure
of the scale coincides with the factor structure of the Turkish form (x²= 24.50, df= 15, RMSEA= .046, NFI= .97, CFI= .99, IFI= .99,
RFI= .94, GFI= .98, AGFI= .95, SRMR= .037). Corrected item-total correlations
ranged among acceptable values. Cronbach alpha internal consistency reliability
coefficient of the scale was .63, which agrees with the judgment that the scale
is highly reliable when the "Cronbach Alfa value of 0.60 ≤ α <0.80"
in the text. Thus Honesty Scale can be used as a valid
and reliable instrument in education.
