With the presidential system of government, significant changes have occurred in politics in Turkey. One of these changes, possibly the most important one, is the changes experienced in the understanding of party-based politics, which started with the transition to multi-party political life in 1946. Party-based politics, which previously was the only determinant in the shaping of political life, has turned to alliance politics in a way that needs more cooperation between parties, both in terms of power and opposition, and political life has begun to develop through these relations. With the new system, the way to come to power become possible not through a purely party-based understanding of politics, but through an alliance politics that encourages cooperation between parties. This meant significant changes in the way of doing politics in Turkey, which has existed since the transition to multi-party life since the parties, which are quite different in terms of culture, belief and ideological etc. and which we thought could never come together before, are in search of coming to power on the basis of alliance politics. This study deals with these changes in Turkish politics, based on facts, and aims to analyze the new way of doing politics, which has emerged in recent years, by relating it to the past periods.
