In view of the cadastral reform processes in the world, it is observedthat cadastral data have been updated on a digital form to whichthe parcel based spatial information systems drive. With these renewalwoks, cadastre has acquired a property that can meet multipurposeprospects by extending its contents and scope. The cadastral renewal works being carried out with the narrowminded perspective in Turkey have usually been to maintain thecorrections of blunders of the past, the digitization of linear dataand the renovation of the technically insufficient cadastral plans. Therefore, cadastre does not permit expansions with respect to itsextend and content since it is far from the requisitions of moderncadastre andperpetuated just the revisions of the data establishedin the past and also the current establishments on the ground cannot be updated due to the statutory obstacles. In this study, therelationship between the establishment cadastre and renovation isexamined on the basis of modern definition of renovation, and theemphasis is given to the argument that an extensive cadastre is onlypossible with new cadastral works which account for the countrys own conditions
