Some Factors Affecting Bank Managers’ Risk Perception
Öz
This study investigates the issue of whether some demographic factors and institutional characteristics affect the risk taking resiliency of bank managers. Our findings indicate that, for the representative group of bank managers and assistant managers in Ankara – Turkey, the factors such as the sector of the bank, age and the years of experience in banking affect the bank managers’ tendency towards taking risk. The results reveal that managers who are working in the private banks, are younger and have less banking experience are more willing to take risks.
