Bu öğrencilerin 153'ü kadın, 38'i erkektir.

Aim: Audiology and speech and language therapy students can play important roles in the treatment processes of patients with HIV/AIDS, directly or indirectly, in their professional lives. Determining the level of knowledge and attitudes of these students about HIV/AIDS may be important for practices in related professions. This study aims to evaluate the level of knowledge and attitudes of audiology and speech and language therapy students about HIV/AIDS.
Method: This study is a quantitative study and was conducted on a voluntary participant group consisting of a total of 191 students aged 18 and over, studying in audiology and speech-language pathology departments. Of these students, 153 were female and 38 were male. 'Participant Information Form, AIDS Knowledge, and AIDS Attitude Scales’ were used as data collection tools. The relevant documents were delivered to the students online, and the data were collected online. Statistical significance level was accepted as p<0.05 in the comparison of the data.
Results: As a result of the study, a significant difference was observed between the level of education of the students' mothers and their level of HIV/AIDS knowledge (p<.05). As the level of mother's education increased, the level of knowledge also increased. The knowledge level of those who had heard about AIDS before and read about it was found to be significantly better (p<.05). Students who grew up in the metropolis had significantly better scores on the AIDS attitude scale (p<.05).There was no significant difference between the students of the department of speech and language therapy and the students of the department of audiology in terms of knowledge and attitude towards HIV/AIDS (p>.05).
Conclusion: As a result of the study, it was determined that students of speech and language therapy and audiology departments needed more information about HIV/AIDS. Most of the students had negative attitudes about this disease. We believe that educators should incorporate trainings on HIV/AIDS into the curriculum to help students overcome prejudices against individuals living with this disease.
