The aim of this study is to examine the effects of using Geometer's Sketchpad (GSP) and GeoGebra (GGB) dynamic geometry software on academic achievement and retention of learning in teaching the "transformation geometry" sub-learning area of the elementary 7th grade mathematics teaching program The model of the research is the experimental design with pre-test and post-test control groups. The study was conducted in a public school in the middle Anatolian region of Turkey, and consisted of 72 students in total, the two experimental groups (N1 = 24, N2 = 24) and the control group (N = 24). During six-weeks training period, the first experimental group was given to computer-aided education with the dynamic geometry software of GGB, and the second experiment group was given to education with the activities prepared with GSP dynamic geometry software. In the control group, the traditional method was used in accordance with the teacher's guide book. At the end of the study, it was observed that the experimental groups were more successful than the control group, and had been more successful in keeping the information in mind for a longer time.
