An Evaluation on Elateridae (Insecta: Coleoptera) Fauna of Eastern Anatolia Region

The Eastern Anatolia Region, constituted 21 % the lands of Turkey is a geographical region of special importance for insect species diversity due to the fact that it shows the transition feature between the north and south of Anatolia and includes transitional areas reaching into Anatolia. As with many other insect groups the Eastern Anatolia Region shows an important richness in term of Elateridae family insect species. In this paper Elateridae fauna in Eastern Anatolia Region has been evaluated and to indicate the importance of the species of this group in the biodiversity of Eastern Anatolia Region has been aimed. This study has shown that there are almost 152 species belonging to 39 genera of seven subfamilies of Elateridae in Eastern Anatolia Region. With 68 species Erzurum is the first place among these provinces. Kars, Muş, Tunceli, Bitlis, Malatya, Bingöl, Ardahan, Erzincan, Hakkâri, Van, Elazığ, Ağrı, and Iğdır followed Erzurum with 34, 31, 27, 20, 19, 17, 15, 13, 12, 10, 8, 6, 5 species, respectively. The presence of more species in Erzurum, Kars and Muş is the result of studies conducted in these provinces. In the future, it is also aimed to intensify the studies in other provinces of this Region.

Doğu Anadolu Bölgesi’nin Elateridae (Insecta: Coleoptera) Faunası Üzerinde Bir Değerlendirme

Doğu Anadolu Bölgesi, Türkiye topraklarının % 21’ini oluşturması, Anadolu’nun kuzeyi ve güneyi arasında geçiş özelliği göstermesi ve Anadolu’nun içine ulaşan geçiş alanlarını içermesi nedeniyle böcek tür çeşitliliği bakımından özel öneme sahip coğrafi bir bölgedir. Diğer pek çok böcek grubunda olduğu gibi Elateridae familyasına bağlı böcek türleri açısından da, Doğu Anadolu Bölgesi önemli bir zenginlik göstermektedir. Bu çalışmada Doğu Anadolu Bölgesi Elateridae faunası biyoçeşitlilik yönüyle değerlendirilmekte ve türlerin Doğu Anadolu Bölgesi’nin biyolojik zenginlikleri içindeki yerinin ve öneminin ortaya konulması hedeflenmektedir. Bu çalışmada elde edilen sonuçlara göre yedi altfamilya içerisinde yer alan 39 cinse ait 152 türün Doğu Anadolu Bölgesi’nde bulunduğu belirlenmiştir. İller içinde tür zenginliği bakımından ilk sırayı 68 türle Erzurum ili almıştır. Erzurum’u 34 türle Kars, 31 türle Muş, 27 türle Tunceli, 20 türle Bitlis, 19 türle Malatya, 17 türle Bingöl, 15 türle Ardahan, 13 türle Erzincan, 12 türle Hakkâri, 10 türle Van, sekiz türle Elazığ, altı türle Ağrı ve beş türle Iğdır illeri izlemiştir. Erzurum, Kars ve Muş illerinde Elateridae familyasına bağlı daha fazla türün saptanmış olması bu illerde günümüze kadar yapılan çalışmaların diğer illere göre fazlalığının sonucudur. Gelecekte bu konudaki bilgi birikimini arttırmak için Doğu Anadolu Bölgesi’nin diğer illerinde de ayrıntılı çalışmaların yoğunlaştırılması hedeflenmektedir.
