Teacher competencies according to peer evaluations in micro-teaching applications

Öz

In this research, it was aimed to evaluate teacher qualifications of secondary school mathematics teacher candidates by taking into consideration peer opinions and teacher qualifications during micro-teaching applications. The research is a descriptive study on situational patterning and is based on qualitative research techniques. Data were collected with an observation form with sections on content, narration, material, communication and time use. As a result of the research, they are aware that communication skills are a qualification for a mathematics teacher, but they only communicate with elements such as body language, tone of voice. They found that a mathematical discussion did not express their views on dimensions and class culture. It also appears that the subject does not comment on the structure of the information, its place in the curriculum and assessment evaluation. It can be said that there is a lack of professional perspectives in evaluating secondary school prospective teachers' peers
