Gerasimos Grivas is Lecturer in Training and Physical Conditioning at Hellenic Naval Academy. Obtained his PhD in 2018 and Master's degrees in 2010 from the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science at the University of Thessaly (Trikala). His master's thesis focused on the effect of detraining on deconditioning of cardiovascular parameters in adolescent middle- and long-distance athletes. For his PhD thesis, he compared the effect of different concurrent aerobic and strength training programs on physical fitness in men. Specifically, he examined and compared the efficacy of two combined training programs on health, functional capacity, and physical fitness indices. His research interests also include: (1) the effect of different exercise programs on the physical fitness of adults, (2) maximizing performance in elite athletes, (3) strength training for middle and long-distance athletes, (4) skeletal muscle function in humans and animals, (5) the validity of exercise as an oxidative stimulus, (6) the effects of free radicals and antioxidants during exercise, (7) wearable technology in health and elite sport, (8) recovery, environmental conditions, shoes, and equipment, (9) physical activity in untrained individuals, and (10) altitude training. He has published a total of 33 articles (plus 1 under review) in international and Greek scientific journals with peer-review systems and has presented 37 papers at international and Greek conferences. Moreover, he serves as a reviewer for more than 30 international scientific journals in the fields of coaching, biochemistry, physiology, exercise, and nutrition.

Dr Abdullah F. Alghannam is a Research Scientist, Consultant Sports Physiotherapist & Exercise Physiologist. Dr Alghannam is currently the Director of the Lifestyle & Health Research Center at the Natural & Health Sciences Research Center (NHSRC), Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University (PNU). He previously worked as a post-doctoral researcher in Exercise Physiology and Sports Nutrition at Loughborough University, UK. Dr Alghannam is a fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health. Dr Alghannam is a prominent Researcher in his field with numerous high impact publications in journals in the field of Sports Medicine, such as Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise and the International Journal of Sports Medicine. In 2020, Dr Alghannam received the prestigious Exercise Physiologist certification from The American College of Sports Medicine.

She is pursuing a Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology and has an impressive history of championship titles in Taekwondo. She has also contributed notable research articles to highly respected international journals. Her research interests include sports performance, sports nutrition, and exercise science.
