Öz

With the integration of modern technologies into everyday life, a significant portion of communication is carried out through digital platforms via internet networks and technologies. While digital platforms enable rapid interpersonal communication without temporal or spatial constraints, they also create an environment in which existing patriarchal power structures and dynamics continue to operate, thereby allowing incidents of violence against women to occur through these mediums. However, because violence perpetrated against women on digital platforms is not as visible as physical violence and victims often lack adequate knowledge on the issue, digital violence may at times be overlooked and not given the attention it requires. This situation may, in the long term, hinder the implementation of necessary measures to prevent violence against women, and in later stages, lead to the escalation of violent behaviors, resulting in far more serious and dangerous circumstances that may even culminate in death. Therefore, it is of vital importance that violence against women whether occurring in real-life settings or on digital platforms be clearly understood by everyone, that preventive measures be taken, and that all segments of society be adequately informed about this issue. In this context, this study, which addresses digital dating violence against women, aims to enhance societal awareness of the issue and to provide a scientific contribution to the existing literature in this field.

Kadına Yönelik Dijital Flört Şiddeti

Öz

Modern teknolojilerin gündelik yaşamımıza dâhil olmasıyla iletişimin büyük bir kısmı internet ağ ve teknolojileri aracılığıyla dijital platformlar üzerinden gerçekleştirilmektedir. Dijital platformlar kişilerarası iletişimin yer ve mekân tanımaksızın hızlı gerçekleşmesine olanak tanırken; diğer taraftan toplumda hâlihazırda varlığını sürdüren ataerkil güç ve dinamiklerin etkisiyle kadına yönelik şiddet vakalarının da bu platformlar aracılığıyla yaşanmasına zemin oluşturmaktadır. Fakat kadına yönelik dijital platformda gerçekleşen şiddetin fiziksel şiddet kadar görünür olmaması ve bu konuda mağdurların yeterince bilgi sahibi olmaması gibi nedenlerle dijital şiddet kimi zaman görmezden gelinerek, yeterince önemsenmeyebilmektedir. Bu durum ilerleyen süreçlerde kadına yönelik şiddetin önlenmesine yönelik alınması gereken önlemlerin alınamamasına, daha sonraki aşamalarda ise şiddet davranışlarının artarak ölümle dahi sonuçlanabilecek çok daha ciddi ve tehlikeli durumların yaşanmasına sebep olabilmektedir. Bu nedenle kadına yönelik şiddetin gerek gerçek hayatta gerekse dijital platformlarda ne olduğunun herkes tarafından iyi bilinmesi, şiddeti önlemeye yönelik tedbirlerin alınması ve bu konuda toplumun tüm kesimlerinin bilinçlendirilmesi hayati bir önem taşımaktadır. Bu bağlamda kadına yönelik dijital flört şiddetini ele alan bu çalışma konuya ilişkin toplumsal farkındalık düzeyinin artırılmasını ve bu alandaki mevcut literatüre bilimsel bir katkı sunmayı amaçlamaktadır.
