This study was carried out to determine the vocational school of health services students’ knowledge level about risk factors of cardiovascular diseases and whether their knowledge levels differ according to some variables. The sample of the descriptive study consisted of 851 students studying at the health services vocational school of a state university. The data were collected using the Introductory Information Form and Cardiovascular Disease Risk Factors Information Level (CARRIF-KL) scale. One way Anova, t-test, Kruskal Wallis variance analysis and Mann Whitney U analysis were used in statistical analysis of the data. The average age of the students in the study is 20.43±1.90 years and the average score on the KARRIF-BD scale is 18.05±5.07. The average points of the students', who; were taking education in Emergency and First Aid programme, were living in the province, had social security, had income equal to expenses, had chronic illness and had patient with cardiovascular disease in the family, were detected to be significantly higher (p<0.05). Research results shows that, the Vocational School of Health Services students’ knowledge level about cardiovascular disease risk factors is moderate and differ according to variables of education programme, place of residence, having social security, economical status, having chronic illness and presence of cardiovascular disease in the family. In this context, it is recommended that students shall be given more information about the risk factors of cardiovascular disease.
