It is important to provide the support the patient needs and establish effective communication in the last days of the patient life. The nurse's adaptation to changing conditions, self-improvement and professionalization efforts can only be possible when the self-realization is achieved. This study was conducted to determine nurses 'attitudes and behaviors regarding end-of-life care, and to determine the effect of nurses' self-actualization on these attitudes and behaviors. Data of the relational descriptive type research were collected using the ‘Descriptive Information Form, Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors Self-Realization Sub-Scale, and Attitudes and Behaviors Towards End-of-Life Care Scale’. The mean score of nurses’ self-fulfillment was 36.47±6.37, and the mean score of end-life attitude and behavior scale was determined as 53.79 ± 7.23. It was found that variables such as gender, marital status and the studied clinic were not effective on the scale scores. It was determined that the situations such as choosing the job voluntarily, loving the profession and being satisfied with the job caused a statistically significant increase in both end-of-life care attitudes and behaviors and self-actualization scores. It was determined that there was a positive relationship between nurses’ attitudes and behaviors towards end-of-life care and their individual development, and nurses who performed themselves had more positive attitudes and behaviors towards end-of-life care.
