This research has been carried out cross-sectionally in order to compare the clinical nurses’ and nursing students’ attitudes towards ageing. The research sample consists of first and fourth grade students (n = 212) studying in the nursing department of a university and 45 nurses working in a training and research hospital. In the study, data have been collected using introductory information form and Ageism Attitude Scale. In our study, it has been detected that there is a significant difference between the nurses' and nursing students' subscale mean scores and total mean scores about restricting life of elderly, positive discrimination towards the elderly, negative discrimination towards the elderly. It has been detected that; there is a significant correlation between nurses' professional experience time and positive ageism scores, and there is a positive and significant relationship between students' age and positive discrimination scores. Improvement of the elderly care services quality is closely related to having a positive attitude towards the elderly. For the improvement of elderly care as one of the nursing practices, continuous aducation and development of health care services in the field of geriatrics is recommended.
