Analysis of Transcendence 2014 Film in the Context of Transhumanism and Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence technologies, which are among the new generation technologies that have entered our lives with movies and that we have adapted to in a short tim.They have recently managed to attract the attention of many directors. In utopian films, which we are accustomed to seeing mostly in the 1960s and later, the steps towards getting closer to the truth from being utopian are increasing day by day. In the new generation sci-fi films, the effects of art on science and technology can be seen frequently in past and recent films. Cinema has become a guide in removing the obstacles in the way of creating probable or definite scenarios in the minds of the audience by combining the information and it receives from science with fiction. The 2014 film Transcendence (Evolution), which was examined in the study, was examined in the context of transhumanism, and the film was examined under the perspective of transhumanism in the light of the information obtained from the film with the descriptive analysis method, which is one of the qualitative research methods.

Transhumanizm ve Yapay Zeka Bağlamında “Transcendence 2014” (Evrim) Filminin İncelenmesi

Öz

Sinema filmleriyle hayatımıza giren ve kısa sürede adapte olduğumuz yeni nesil teknolojilerin arasına bir yenisi olan yapay zekâ teknolojileri, son dönemlerde birçok yönetmenlerin ilgisini çekmeyi başarmıştır. Daha çok 1960 ve sonrası görmeye alışık olduğumuz ütopik filmler günümüze geldiğinde ütopik olmaktan çıkıp gerçeğe yaklaşma yolundaki adımları her geçen gün artmaktadır. Yeni nesil bilimkurgu filmlerinde sürekli gelecek öngörüsü altında oluşturulan filmler sanatın, bilim ve teknoloji üzerindeki etkisini geçmişteki ve son dönem filmlerde sıklıkla görülebilmektedir. Sinema, bilimden aldığı bilgiyi kurgu ile birleştirerek olması muhtemel ya da kesin senaryoları izleyicinin zihninde oluşturma yolundaki engelleri kaldırma yolunda bir yol gösterici durumuna gelmiştir. Çalışmada incelenen 2014 yapımı olan Transcendence (Evrim) filmi, transhumanizm bağlamında incelenerek nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden olan betimsel analiz yöntemi ile filmden elde edilen bilgiler ışığında film transhumanizm bakış açısı altında incelenmiştir.
