Relationship between Age, Height, Weight and Speed, Acceleration, Vertical Jump in Child Soccer Players 9-13 Ages
Öz
The aim of this study was examination of relationship between age, height, weight and speed, acceleration, vertical jump in child soccer players 9-13 ages. Totally forty-nine child soccer
players at Kardemir Karabük Football Club from the Turkey, (age=10.71±1.37 years; height=139.94±9.78 cm; weight=31.76±5.00 kg), participated as volunteer in this research. Acceleration was evaluated using a 10-m test and speed performance was evaluated using a 20-m and 30-m tests, involving sprinting 10 m, 20 m, and 30 m as fast as possible from a stationary start position. Vertical jump was evaluated using a marked on the wall. There was a significantly correlation between 20 m speed performance with age (r=0.287) and height (r=0.430). 20 m speed performance was explained by age (8.2%) and height (18.5%). Also, there was a significantly correlation between 30 m speed performance with age (r=0.620) and height (r=0.330). 30 m speed performance was explained by age (38.5%) and height (10.9%). However, there was a significantly correlation between vertical jump with age (r=0.618), height (r=0.607), and weight (r=0.503). Vertical jump was explained by age (38.2%), height (36.8%), and weight (25.3%). On the other hand, there is no significantly correlation between acceleration with age, height, and weight. In conclusion, when running distance increases, speed performance improvements in age. But when running distance increases, speed performance decreases in height. Also, acceleration is observed to occur at a greater distance than 10 meters. In addition, it can say that vertical jump performance influence by age, height, and weight in child soccer players.
