Şaire Karşı Şiir, Niyete Karşı Metin: Attilâ İlhan’ın “Tarz-I Kadim” Şiirinde Gelenek

“tarz-ı kadim” (the old style), a poem by Attilâ İlhan, is included in his book  Sisler Bulvarı (1954). A chapter titled as “Meraklısı İçin Notlar” (notes to whom concerned) was added to the book in 1981. The poet shares some anecdotes and comments about his poems in this chapter which takes place in the end of his books. The information given in these notes can affect and change the analyzes of the poems. The note about “tarz-ı kadim” (old style) exemplifies this effect. In the note mentioned, the poet claims to have an aggressive position against the tradition in “tarz-ı kadim” and added that he has changed this position at a later stage of his poetry. Attilâ İlhan’s ideas in this note were conveyed by the researchers. However, if only the text is considered, the poem “tarz-ı tadim” can be interpreted as a respectful objection to the tradition. In this case, unlike the intention or the comment of the poet, the meaning of the poem can be interpreted in the light of the concepts of “intentional fallacy” and “affective fallacy”.

“tarz-ı kadim” şiiri, Attilâ İlhan’ın 1954 yılında yayımlanan ve ikinci şiir kitabı olan Sisler Bulvarı’nda yer alır. Kitabın 1981 yılındaki 4. baskısının sonuna “Meraklısı İçin Notlar” başlıklı bir bölüm eklenir. İlgili notunda şair, söz konusu şiirde geleneğe karşı saldırgan bir tutum takındığını ve daha sonra geldiği aşama itibariyle bu tutumu artık benimsemediğini belirtir. Attilâ İlhan’ın bu notundaki düşünceler araştırmacılarca da aktarılmıştır. Oysa metne bakıldığında “tarz-ı kadim” şiiri, geleneğe bir saldırı değil, saygı çerçevesinde yapılmış bir itiraz olarak okunabilir. Bu bakımdan yazarın niyeti veya yorumu karşısında metnin anlamı, “intentional fallacy” (niyet yanılgısı) ve “affective fallacy” (duygu yanılgısı) kavramları çerçevesinde irdelenebilir.
