Emotional Intelligence And The Use Of Emotional Intelligence For Athletes
Abstract
This research study is designed to provide beneficial insights towards coaches to effectively and positively influence the emotional intelligence of the athletes as well as to pave a strong foundation and give favourable advices for the upcoming studies related to quality and essence of the utilization of emotional intelligence. The research was designed as a descriptive survey model and the data were obtained by using the document analysis method in depth. The sample of the research; content analysis criteria consist of similar studies. According to the information obtained as a result of literature reviews; It could be said as a result of this review that emotional intelligence is related to variables such as performance, psychologic skills, other positive factors, physiologic factors and effective sports coaching. Positive motive and synergy between team caused by the individual enhancement in the emotional intelligence level will help to convert the negative emotions into positive emotions. Negative emotions such as anxiety, anger and depression in sports may enourmously jeopardize the performance. Furthermore, effective utilization of the emotional intelligence will significantly increase the competitive capacity and commitment to the team which makes the athletes more equipped and dedicated compared to their former situation.
