Descartes has gained an important place in the history of thought by using the suspicion method in obtaining clear and distinct information in its epistemology. The information obtained through the senses has passed through all the acquired knowledge, especially through the filter of doubt. He later claimed that the basic source of knowledge was the mind based on the thought. He based his ontology and epistemology using the method of doubt, starting from the act of thought. In our study, firstly, the way Descartes followed in reading real information and which principles it adopted were discussed. Secondly, Descartes' transition from knowledge to the idea of God is examined. In this context, the foundations of metaphysical understanding, the knowing of God, proofs for the exitence of God, why he needs the idea of God, etc. are examined. The aim of the study is to explain how the relationship between the ideaof God, which Descartes regards as precise and sound does not squeez God into the metaphysics field but to draw attention to the understanding of epistemology and its connection.
