New Record of Alburnoides kosswigi (Pisces: Leuciscidae) in the Ilgın Lake Basin

Abstract

Alburnoides kosswigi was described from the Sakarya River. Morphological data reveal that it also inhabits in the stream Beykonak, a tributary of the Ilgın Lake in Central Anatolia. The Ilgın population of Alburnoides kosswigi has distinguished features such as a scaleless keel between the posterior pelvic-fin base and the anus, the eye diameter approximately equal to the snout length and the interorbital distance, 42–47 total lateral-line scales, 11½–13½ branched anal-fin rays, 38–39 total vertebrae, 11-12 predorsal vertebrae, and 7–8 gill rakers.
