In the process of political participation, it is known that social media creates a new form of communication and shapes decision-making processes. This study, the effect of the use of social media on political participation is measured, in the case of Şırnak province. Data obtained by face to face survey method on a sample of 427 people were analyzed through SPSS program and the results were interpreted. It had been possible to observe the effects of the use of social media on individual and mass participation, because of individuals who are political party members and use social media for political sharing giving relatively clear answers to the survey questions. Analyzes based on the responses of all participants has revealed that there is an impact level below the intermediate level, but non-given use and impact level ratios are assumed to be much higher. As a result of the study, it was seen that the use of social media for perception management and political sharing affects individual and mass participation more than the use of social media for communication and news.
