Tiroid Fırtınası: Bir Olgu Sunumu

Öz

Giriş: Tiroid fırtınası; kötü tedavi edilmiş veya tanı konmamış
hipertirodili hastalarda görülen, mortalite oranı yüksek
hipermetabolik bir durumdur. Tiroid fırtınası acil serviste görülme
sıklığı az, %20-30 mortalite oranı ile seyreden, bu nedenle
atlanılmaması gereken tanılardan biridir. Ancak erken tanı ve
uygun tedavi ile mortalite ve morbidite oranının azaltılabileceği
belirtilmektedir.
Olgu Sunumu: Bu yazıda, acil servise yüksek ateş ve bilinç
değişikliği ile başvuran, öyküsünde hipertiroidi tanısı olan
düzensiz ilaç kullanımı ve beraberinde salisilat kullanımının da
tetiklediği bir tiroid fırtınası vakası sunuldu.
Sonuç: Acil serviste ateşli ve bilinç bozukluğu olan hastanın ayırıcı
tanısında tiroid fırtınası unutulmamalıdır.

Thyroid storm: A Case Report

Öz

Introduction: Thyroid storm is a hypermetabolic condition that is usually seen in patients with undiagnosed or poorly treated hyperthyroid diseases with a high mortality rate. The incidence of thyroid storm in the emergency department is low, with a mortality rate of 20%-30%; thus, it should not be overlooked. However, early diagnosis and appropriate treatment may reduce mortality and morbidity rates.Case Report: We report a case of thyroid storm here in a patient who was admitted to the emergency department with complaints of fever and change in consciousness, with irregular drug use for hyperthyroidism, who experienced thyroid storm triggered by salicylate.Conclusion: In the emergency departments, thyroid storm must be put on the list of differential diagnoses if the patient is unconscious with fever
