Evaluation of the thermodynamic behavior of white benzoin via inverse gas chromatography

Öz

This study, the thermodynamic properties of white benzoin (WB) were examined by the inverse gas chromatography (IGC) method. To evaluate the polymer-solvent interaction parameters, the specific retention volume of the solvents, V_g^0 values were determined using various nonpolar and polar solvents in the temperature range of 373.2 –398.2 K. Then, from these data, the values of the Flory-Huggins theory polymer-solvent interaction parameters, χ_12^∞, equation of state theory, polymer-solvent interaction parameters, χ_12^*, effective exchange energy parameters, X_eff, and also the partial molar heat of mixing at infinite dilution of solvent, ∆H ̅_1^∞, the molar heat of vaporization of solvent, ∆H ̅_v, and the partial molar heat of sorption of solvent, ∆H ̅_s, were calculated. The results obtained were discussed.
