Meeting of Methionine Essential Amino Acid Requirements in Organic Poultry Production

Öz

Increasing population leads to increase in food for human. At the same time, high incomed people

wants to consume foods as genetically not modified, native animal breed products and native variety plants without

using artificial fertilizers, pesticides etc. In order to produce organic foods, organic production standards should

be applied for soil, plant, animal, production and following procedures. In every stage of production, control and

certification process should be applied. Organic production takes too much time, and its also sensitive, low incomed

however, environment friendly and considering animal welfare. The most important problem in organic poultry

production is suppling of organically produced feeds or just like in synthetic methionine that is not as effective as

natural methionine considering quantity and quality. In this review some problems in organic production, alternative

methionine sources and their effectiveness will be evaluated.

Organik Tavukçulukta Metiyonin Esansiyel Amino Asidi İhtiyacının Karşılanması

Öz

Artan nüfusla gıda ihtiyacı da artmakla birlikte, gelir durumu iyi olan kesimin genetik yapısı değiştirilmemiş
olan yerli bitki ile hayvan tür ve hatlarının kullanıldığı, gübre, ilaç kullanılmadan üretilen gıda kaynaklarına talebi
de giderek artmaktadır. Organik üretim için toprak, bitki, hayvan, üretim ve daha sonraki işlemlerde belirlenen
standartların uygulanması gerekmektedir. Üretimin her aşamasında kontrol ve setifikalandırma işlemleri
yapılmaktadır. Organik üretim, geleneksel olana kıyasla uzun zaman alan, hassas, karlılığı düşük fakat çevre dostu,
hayvan refahının gözetildiği bir üretim şeklidir. Organik tavuk üretiminde en önemli problem, organik olarak
üretilen yem bileşenlerinin yeterli miktarlarda tedarik edilememesi veya metiyonin esansiyel amino asidinde
olduğu gibi miktar ve etkinlik bakımından organik veya doğal kaynakların sentetikleriyle rekabet edememesidir.
Bu makale ile organik tavuk üretiminde karşılaşılabilecek çeşitli problemler, alternatif metiyonin kaynakları ve
etkinlikleri hakkında bilgi verilecektir.
