TÜRKİYE’DE ULUSLARARASI GÖÇ AKIMLARI: ÇEKİM MODELİ ANALİZİ

Öz

Küresel siyasi ve iktisadi gelişmeler sonucunda uluslararası göçün önemi giderek artmaktadır. Nitekim uluslararası göç nedeniyle hem göç alan, hem de göç veren ülkelerin sosyal, iktisadi ve demografik yapılarında değişimler gözlenmektedir. Bu bağlamda göç üzerine yapılan çalışmalarda gerek nitel gerekse nicel anlamda gelişmeler söz konusudur. Türkiye bulunduğu stratejik konum itibariyle göç hareketliliğinin yüksek olduğu bir ülke durumundadır. Özellikle komşu ülkelerdeki yapısal değişiklikler ve siyasi karışıklıklardan dolayı son dönemlerde Türkiye’de ciddi göç akımları gerçekleşmekte ve tartışma güncelliğini korumaktadır. Bu bağlamda çalışmada 2016-2017 dönemi için Türkiye’nin seçilmiş 83 ülke ile arasındaki göç hareketliliği panel çekim modeli ile analiz edilmiştir. Model Poisson Pseudo Maximum Likelihood tahmincisi ile tahmin edilmiş; ülkeler arası uzaklık ve kaynak ülke GSYİH düzeyinin göç akımlarını azaltan faktörler olduğu belirlenmiştir. Hedef ülkenin GSYİH düzeyi, hedef ve kaynak ülke nüfusu göç akımlarını tetiklemektedir

INTERNATIONAL MIGRATION FLOWS IN TURKEY: A GRAVITY MODEL ANALYSIS

Abstract

International migration has recently become more important by the global political and economic developments. The social, economic and demographic structures of the countries for which destination and origin can change because of international migration. In this context the papers that analyze migration developed quantitatively and qualitatively. The migration movements in Turkey dramatically high as a consquence of strategic position of the country. Especially the structural changes in neighbor countries lead to serious migration movements in Turkey and discussion maintain current status. In this context, this paper analyzes migration movements between Turkey and other 83 countries in period of 2016-2017 with panel gravity model. The model is estimated with the Poisson Pseudo Maximum Likelihood estimator; It is determined that the distance between countries and the origin country GDP are factors that reduce migration flows. GDP level of the destination country and the origin country population are triggering migration flows.
