Localization is an adaptation method that has become an indispensable part of today's digital world. It generally refers to tailoring a product, service, or text content to better represent it in different social environments by adapting the aforementioned elements to the needs of the target culture or audience. In this context, although there are differing opinions on whether localization should be included in the field of translation studies, it is undeniable that translation plays an active role in the cultural adaptation process. Particularly in today's environment of technology and globalization, viewing localization efforts as a subcategory of translation practices and evaluating the motivations behind these practices may result in a healthier adaptation process. These motivations arise from the transfer of the habitus and capital of product developers and marketers among field actors and their re-creation at the intertextual level, blended with local culture. Based on this assumption, the present study aims to examine localization activities targeting written, visual, and auditory resources used in the introduction of technology products to different cultures within the framework of the sociological intertextuality approach in translation studies. In this context, the sociological intertextuality patterns in localization activities will be examined by evaluating the promotional documents on the English, French, and Turkish web pages of Apple Inc., a global company, through content analysis. A review of the relevant literature reveals that there are very few studies evaluating localization activities in the context of translation sociology. Furthermore, since the “sociological intertextuality” approach was introduced to the literature by the author, no studies evaluating localization using this approach have been found. Therefore, the results of the research will present innovative findings for translators working in the field of localization.
