The Effect of Healthy and Sustainable Lifestyle on Sustainable Consumption Behavior: The Mediating Role of Health Importance

Öz

The aim of this study is to determine the mediating role of the importance given to health in the effect of a healthy and sustainable lifestyle on sustainable consumption behavior in individuals. The study was conducted in the Central District of Yozgat Province. A total of 364 individuals aged 18 and over participated in the study. Data were collected using the “Personal Information Form,” “Healthy and Sustainable Lifestyle Scale,” “Sustainable Consumption Behavior Scale,” and “Importance of Health Subscale.” SPSS 26 and Process Macro 5.0 (Model 4) were used to analyze the data. Descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation analysis, and Process Macro 5.0 (Model 4) for mediation analysis were used in the data analysis. 56.9% of the individuals were male, 62.9% were married, 38.7% were between the ages of 20 and 30, and 51.9% were university graduates. The mean scores for healthy and sustainable lifestyle were 3.64±0.53; sustainable consumption behavior was 3.67±0.84; and importance given to health was 3.65±0.90. The direct (β: .389) and indirect (β: .172) effects of health and sustainable lifestyle on sustainable consumption behavior were found to be significant. It was concluded that healthy and sustainable lifestyle has a significant and positive effect on sustainable consumption behavior in individuals, mediated by the importance placed on health.

Sağlıklı ve Sürdürülebilir Yaşam Tarzının Sürdürülebilir Tüketim Davranışı Üzerindeki Etkisi: Sağlığa Verilen Önemin Aracılık Rolü

Öz

Bu araştırmada amaç, bireylerde sağlıklı ve sürdürülebilir yaşam tarzının sürdürülebilir tüketim davranışı üzerindeki etkisinde sağlığa verilen önemin aracılık rolünün belirlenmesidir. Araştırma Yozgat ili Merkez ilçesinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmaya 18 yaş üzeri 364 birey katılım sağlamıştır. Veriler “Kişisel Bilgi Formu”, “Sağlıklı ve Sürdürülebilir Yaşam Tarzı Ölçeği”, “Sürdürülebilir Tüketim Davranışı Ölçeği” ve “Sağlığa Verilen Önem Alt Ölçeği” ile toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde SPSS 26 ve Process Macro 5.0 (Model 4) kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde tanımlayıcı istatistikler, Pearson korelasyon analizi ve aracılık analizi için Process Macro 5.0 (Model 4) kullanılmıştır. Bireylerin %56,9’u erkek, %62,9’u evli, %38,7’si 20-30 yaş aralığında, %51,9’u üniversite mezunudur. Sağlıklı ve sürdürülebilir yaşam tarzı puan ortalaması 3,64±0,53; sürdürülebilir tüketim davranışı 3,67±0,84 ve sağlığa verilen önem 3,65±0,90’dır. Sağlık ve sürdürülebilir yaşam tarzının sürdürülebilir tüketim davranışı üzerinde doğrudan (β: ,389) ve dolaylı (β: ,172) etkisi anlamlı bulunmuştur. Bireylerde sürdürülebilir tüketim davranışı üzerindeki etkisinde sağlıklı ve sürdürülebilir yaşam tarzının anlamlı ve pozitif yönde etkisinin olduğu sağlığa verilen önemin aracılık gösterdiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
