Yazılı Metinlere Göre Ebla Dini ve Panteonu

Öz

Ebla, günümüz Suriye’sinde yer alan ve antik dönemde önemli bir şehir-devlet olarak öne çıkan Tell Mardikh’te konumlanmaktadır. 20. yüzyılın ikinci yarısında gerçekleştirilen arkeolojik kazılarda ortaya çıkarılan Ebla arşivleri, yalnızca kentin siyasi ve ekonomik yapısına değil, aynı zamanda dini inanç sistemine dair bilgiler de sunmaktadır. Bu çalışma, Ebla’nın dinî yapısını incelemeyi amaçlamakta ve bu bağlamda şehirde tapınım gören tanrı ve tanrıçaların kimliklerini, ritüellerdeki rollerini ve kült uygulamalarını analiz etmektedir. Ebla metinleri doğrultusunda yapılan değerlendirmeler, Kura, Hadda, Rašap, Hadabal ve İšhara’nın şehirde tapınım gören başlıca tanrılar arasında yer aldığını göstermektedir. Bununla birlikte, metinlerde adı geçen ve hakkında dolaylı bilgiler elde edilen başka tanrılar da bulunmaktadır. Ebla metinleri, dini ritüellerde tanrıların aktif bir rol oynadığını açık biçimde ortaya koymaktadır. Özellikle Hadda ve Rašap gibi tanrıların, bölgedeki diğer kültürlerde de yer alması, Ebla dininin etkileşim içinde olduğu kültürel yapıları göstermektedir. Ayrıca Ebla’da “Atalar Kültü” önemli bir yer tutmakta olup, ölmüş ataların kutsallaştırılarak ritüel hayatın bir parçası hâline getirildiği anlaşılmaktadır. Bu kült, daha sonraki dönemlerde Ugarit dini içerisinde de görülmektedir. Kraliyet düğünleri, anma törenleri ve takvime dayalı dini uygulamalarda tanrılara önemli roller verilmiştir. Ebla’da ele geçirilen figürinler, tanrılara ait küçük heykelciklerin üretildiğini ve bu yolla tanrıların görselleştirildiğini göstermektedir. Tüm bu bulgular, dinin Ebla toplumunun günlük yaşamında merkezi bir rol oynadığını ortaya koymaktadır.

Eblaite Religion and Pantheon According to the Written Sources

Ebla is located in Tell Mardikh, a city-state in modern-day Syria that stood out as an important city-state in antiquity. Ebla archives, unearthed during archaeological excavations in the second half of the 20th century, provide information not only on the city's political and economic structure but also on its religious belief system. This study aims to examine Ebla's religious structure and, in this context, analyzes the identities of the gods and goddesses worshipped in the city, their roles in rituals, and their cult practices. Analysis of the Ebla texts indicates that Kura, Hadda, Rašap, Hadabal, and Išhara were among the primary deities worshipped in the city. However, there are other deities mentioned in the texts about which indirect information is available. The Ebla texts clearly demonstrate the active role of deities in religious rituals. The presence of deities such as Hadda and Rašap, in particular, in other cultures in the region demonstrates the cultural structures with which the Ebla religion interacted. The “Ancestor Cult” also held a significant place in Ebla, where deceased ancestors were sanctified and incorporated into ritual life. This cult was also seen in the Ugaritic religion of later periods. Gods were assigned important roles in royal weddings, commemorations, and calendar-based religious practices. Figurines unearthed at Ebla indicate that small statuettes of gods were produced, visualizing them in this way. All these findings demonstrate that religion played a central role in the daily life of Ebla society.
