Increasing competition, heavy workloads and uncertainties in today's work environment are causing employees to experience higher levels of work-related stress. This generally has negative consequences for life satisfaction and creativity in working life. This study was designed to highlight this issue and contribute to theory and practice. In this context, the effects of life satisfaction and work stress on creativity in the workplace were examined using quantitative research methods. To this end, a survey was conducted with 201 employees. The research findings reveal that employees' life satisfaction significantly and positively affects the creative behaviours they exhibit at work. However, it was determined that the direct effect of work stress on creativity is not statistically significant. However, moderator effect analyses showed that work stress weakens the relationship between life satisfaction and creativity. In situations of high work stress in particular, the contribution of life satisfaction to creativity decreases. Conversely, when stress levels are low, life satisfaction's supportive role in creativity becomes more apparent. These results suggest that, while life satisfaction is crucial for developing employees' creative potential, high work stress significantly limits this positive effect. Therefore, organisations must focus on human resources practices that increase life satisfaction, improve working conditions and develop strategies to reduce stress, in order to encourage creative thinking and innovative behaviour.
