Workaholism and Work-Family Conflict: The Role of Gender
Öz
This study aims to explore the impact of workaholism on work-family conflict and to investigate whether the employees' gender plays a moderating role in this relationship. The research involved 401 academicians from state universities in Ankara, using a snowball sampling method. In this context, the research was conducted with the participation of 401 academicians working in state universities in Ankara. As a result of the study, it was determined that workaholism had a significant positive effect on work-family conflict (r=0.596, p<0.01), but gender did not have a moderating effect between the two variables. In addition, it is another finding that attitudes towards workaholism and work-family conflict differ according to gender and that female academics have higher attitudes towards workaholism and work-family conflict than male academics.
