Circular Economy From Product Lifecycle Management Perspective

Öz

Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) has become a necessity for companies to be competitive in the global market. PLM is a requirement of working collaboratively for the best quality production with the least time and cost. The circular economy is an understanding that expresses transformation and re-transformation instead of the destruction process after resource use. The circular economy concept is becoming more and more popular for companies that want to be both sustainable and increase their profitability. PLM systems can provide significant assistance for companies looking to move to a circular model. A PLM system might be the best solution to cyclically manage a product's lifecycle. As a broad business concept, PLM can provide information about the product at lifecycle stages such as product and information flows. Today, PLM has the potential to streamline the lifecycle processes of companies. It could be argued that PLM could be a critical tool to use when these processes turn into cyclical ones. For example, it might include an overview of which materials are reusable to help companies make better decisions at an earlier stage of the manufacturing process. In this study, first, literature research on PLM and circular economy was conducted, then current practices were examined, and in the last stage, a questionnaire was applied to company employees about PLM and circular economy issues. The data obtained from the questionnaires were analyzed and the data were interpreted, and suggestions were presented. The study revealed that firms that implement PLM and circular economy are few in number, awareness of both phenomena is insufficient, and they are not considered necessary according to most survey respondents. Considering that the importance of PLM is not understood by the companies, it is evaluated that awareness can be created through scientific publications, seminars, and training for the sector.

Ürün Yaşam Döngüsü Yönetimi Perspektifinden Döngüsel Ekonomi

Öz

Ürün Yaşam Döngüsü Yönetimi (PLM), şirketlerin küresel pazarda rekabet edebilmeleri için bir ihtiyaç haline gelmiştir. PLM, en iyi kalitede üretim için en az zaman ve maliyetle işbirliği içinde çalışmanın bir gereğidir. Döngüsel ekonomi kullanımdan sonraki imha sürecinin yerine dönüşümü ve yeniden dönüşümü ifade eden bir anlayıştır. Döngüsel ekonomi kavramı hem sürdürülebilirlik hem de kârlılığını artırmak isteyen şirketler için giderek daha popüler hale gelmektedir. PLM sistemleri, döngüsel bir modele geçmek isteyen şirketler için önemli ölçüde yardım sağlayabilir. Bir PLM sistemi, bir ürünün yaşam döngüsünü döngüsel bir şekilde yönetmek için en iyi çözüm olabilir. Geniş bir işletme konsepti olarak PLM, ürün ve bilgi akışları gibi yaşam döngüsü aşamalarında ürün hakkında bilgi sağlayabilir. PLM bugün şirketlerin Yaşam Döngüsü süreçlerini kolaylaştırmak için kullanılmaktadır. PLM’nin bu süreçler döngüsel olanlara dönüştüğünde kullanılacak kritik bir araç olabileceği iddia edilebilir. Örneğin, bu, şirketlerin imalat sürecinin daha erken bir aşamasında daha iyi kararlar almalarına yardımcı olmak için hangi malzemelerin tekrar kullanılabilir olduğu hakkında genel bir bakış içerebilir. Bu çalışma kapsamında PLM ve döngüsel ekonomi hakkında literatür çalışmaları yapılıp, mevcut uygulamalar incelenip son aşamada şirket çalışanlarına yönelik olarak PLM ve döngüsel ekonomi konuları hakkında anket çalışması yapılmıştır. Anket sonuçları yorumlanıp öneriler belirtilmiştir.
