Öz

The quest for non-contradictory propositions is essential for constructing a scientific language. Since Leibniz, philosophers have tried to produce a symbolic language suitable for use in science. Frege introduces a general algebraic language for all types of reasoning in the form of a Begriffsschrift. The fact that the reference of the concept in the proposition does not correspond to any object has directed us to a method of studying the validity of propositions containing empty concepts, particularly Russell's theory of definite descriptions. This article aims to solve the problem: "How to construct a scientific language without contradictions? At the end of our investigation, Russell's theory of definite descriptions allows for a pluralistic formulation by a non-contradictory reference. This theory is suitable for such a scientific language.

Çelişik Olmayan Önermelerden Oluşan Bir Bilim Dili Arayışı: Gösterim Teorisinden Sonra Russell’ın Tanımlı Betimlemeler Teorisi ve Denotasyon Anlayışı

Öz

Bilimsel bir dilin inşası için çelişik olmayan önermelerin araştırılması elzemdir. Nitekim Leibniz’den bu yana filozoflar, bilimin kullanımına uygun olan sembolik bir dil üretimi için çaba sarf etmişlerdir. Frege, her türlü akıl yürütme için genel bir cebir dilini kavram yazısıyla (Begriffsschrift) ortaya koymuştur. Önermedeki kavramın referansının hiçbir nesneye tekabül etmemesi yöntemimizi şekillendirmiş ve bizi, kaplamı boş olan kavramlar içeren önermelerin geçerliliği üzerine araştırma yapmaya, özellikle de Russell’ın tanımlı betimlemeler teorisine yönlendirmiştir. Bu makalede “Çelişik olmayan önermelerden oluşan bir bilim dili nasıl oluşturulabilir?” problematiğine çözüm olanağı bulmak amaçlanmaktadır. Araştırmamızın sonunda, Russell'ın tanımlı betimlemeler teorisinin, çelişik olmayan önermelerin gönderimi sayesinde çoğulcu bir formülasyona izin verdiğini ve söz konusu teorinin amaçlanan bilimsel bir dil için elverişli olduğunu tespit etmekteyiz.
