Markaların İletişim Kanallarında Yeni Bir Arayış: PESO Modeli

Öz

İletişim durağan değildir; canlıdır, toplumsal ve kültürel değişimleri zorunlu kılan bir süreçtir. İletişim olgusunun değiştiği gibi iletişim kanalları da sürekli değişmektedir. Markalar da günümüzün rekabet koşulları içerisinde değişime adapte olup rakiplerinden farklılaşabilmek için yeni bir iletişim kanalı arayışındadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı ise iletişim kanallarında (medya türlerinde) yaşanan arayış, değişim ve gelişmeler doğrultusunda ortaya çıkan iki modelin karşılaştırılması ve bunun sonucunda markalar için uygulanabilir ve güncel bir değerlendirilmenin sunulmasıdır. İletişim kanallarıyla ilgili olarak üç alt kategoride ele alınan POE modeli (ödenmiş, sahip olunan, kazanılan medya) paylaşılan medyanın kazanılan medyanın altında yer alamayacak kadar büyümesi sonucunda bir değişim yaşamak zorunda kalmış bunun sonucunda paylaşılan medya dördüncü “bir kategori olarak yeni oluşan modele dâhil edilmiş ve POE modelinin karşısında konumlandırılmıştır. Bu yeni model tanımlaması ise PESO modelidir (Ödenmiş, kazanılan, paylaşılan, sahip olunan medya). Çalışmada POE modeli ve PESO modelinin karşılaştırılmasıyla kavramsal bir tartışma biçiminde verilmiştir. Markaların önemsediği karlılık, iletişim, itibar gibi kritik alanlarda yüksek seviyeye ulaşabilmek için doğru medya türlerinin seçilmesinin gerekli olduğu düşünülmektedir; çalışmada yeni medya türlerinin, modellerinin anlatılmasının doğru ve etkili uygulamaların yapılması açısından önemli olduğuna inanılmaktadır.
