ERGENLERDE DUYGU DÜZENLEME VE YAŞAM DOYUMUNUN SOSYAL MEDYA BAĞIMLILIĞI ÜZERİNDEKİ YORDAYICI ROLÜ

Öz

Bu araştırmada, duygu düzenleme ve yaşam doyumu değişkenlerinin ergenlerin sosyal medya bağımlılığı düzeylerini ne kadar yordadığı incelenmiştir. Araştırma ilişkisel tarama modeline dayalı yürütülmüştür. Çalışmanın araştırma grubunu 2021-2022 eğitim-öğretim yılında Afyonkarahisar ilinde iki lise kurumunda öğrenim gören 168 (%46.8) erkek, 191 (%53.2) kız olmak üzere toplam 359 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma grubuna ilişkin yaş ortalaması 15.36’dır. Veri toplama araçları olarak “Ergenler İçin Sosyal Medya Bağımlılığı Ölçeği”, “Ergenler İçin Duygu Düzenleme Ölçeği” “Yaşam Doyumu Ölçeği” ve “Kişisel Bilgi Formu” kullanılmıştır. Araştırma verileri hiyerarşik regresyon analiz yöntemi ile analiz edilmiştir. Hiyerarşik regresyon analizinde, modele ilk olarak, duygu düzenleme değişkeni girmiştir. Duygu düzenleme (içsel işlevsel duygu düzenleme, içsel işlevsel olmayan duygu düzenleme, dışsal işlevsel duygu düzenleme, dışsal işlevsel olmayan duygu düzenleme) sosyal medya bağımlılığının %38’ini açıklamıştır (R2=.38, düzenlenmiş R2=.37). İkinci adımda modele yaşam doyumu değişkeni dahil olmuştur. Yaşam doyumu sosyal medya bağımlılığının %1’ini açıklamıştır (R2=.39, düzenlenmiş R2=.38). Son modele göre duygu düzenlemenin (βİçsel İşlevsel Duygu Düzenleme =-.20, p<.005; βİçsel İşlevsel Olmayan Duygu Düzenleme =.26, p<.005; βDışsal İşlevsel Duygu Düzenleme =27, p<.005; βDışsal İşlevsel Olmayan Duygu Düzenleme =-.22, p<.005) ve yaşam doyumunun (βYaşam Doyumu=-.10, p<.005) sosyal medya bağımlılığını anlamlı bir biçimde yordadığı saptanmıştır. Elde edilen tüm bulgular duygu düzenlemenin ve yaşam doyumunun sosyal medya bağımlılığını anlamlı bir biçimde yordadığını göstermiş, veriler alan yazın çerçevesinde tartışılmıştır.

The Predictive Role of Emotion Regulation and Life Satisfaction on Social Media Addiction in Adolescents

In this study, the predictive role of emotion regulation and life satisfaction on social media addiction levels of adolescents was examined. The research was conducted based on the relational survey model. The research group of the study consists of 359 students, 168 (46.8%) males and 191 (53.2%) females, studying in two high schools in Afyonkarahisar in the 2021-2022 academic year. The average age of the research group is 15.36. “Social Media Addiction Scale for Adolescents”, “Regulation of Emotions Questionnaire (REQ) for Adolescents”, “Life Satisfaction Scale” and “Personal Information Form” were used as data collection tools. Research data were analysed by the hierarchical regression analysis method. In the hierarchical regression analysis, the emotion regulation variable entered the model first. Emotion regulation (internal functional emotion regulation, internal dysfunctional emotion regulation, external functional emotion regulation, external dysfunctional emotion regulation) explained 38% of social media addiction (R2=.38, düzenlenmiş R2=.37). In the second step, the life satisfaction variable was included in the model. Life satisfaction explained 1% of social media addiction (R2=.39, düzenlenmiş R2=.38). According to the latest model, emotion regulation (βInternal-Functional Emotion Regulation =-.20, p<.005; βInternal-Dysfunctional Emotion Regulation =.26, p<.005; βExternal-Functional Emotion Regulation =27, p<.005; βExternal-Dysfunctional Emotion Regulation =-.22, p<.005) and life satisfaction (βYaşam Doyumu=-.10, p<.005) were found to significantly predict social media addiction. All the findings obtained showed that emotion regulation and life satisfaction significantly predicted social media addiction, and the data were discussed within the framework of the literature.
