“Mosques” as the Essential Museums of Anatolian Turkish-Islamic Artworks in the Context of the Importance of Preservation

Abstract

As the most ancient trace left by mankind on the world, “cultural assets” are the civilization, culture, time, geography, technology, art, faith, etc. to which they are connected. it has been shaped within the framework of the possibilities offered by the features and under the influence of them. The concepts of faith and art are also among the most important values that cultural assets produced in this context have, and they are qualified memories that contain information about the essence to which they are connected. It is also important in this regard. The productions made on the basis of the concept of faith and art in the historical course are too broad-based to fit into a subject of study. From this point of view, within the scope of this study, the universe is determined as architectural works produced on the basis of the concepts of faith and art, and the sample is considered as historical mosques in Anatolia, which are cultural assets, and some selections of Turkish Islamic art works such as tiles, illumination, calligraphy, binding, carpets, rugs, etc.. The aforementioned sample group has been evaluated in terms of decorative value; some historical tile and plaster mihrabs that have survived to the present day have been discussed in the context of the importance of protection through destroyed examples such as manuscript Qur'an, door wings. Because the importance of a work of art is only possible as long as it can continue its existence. Otherwise, it will only find a place in a story of the past. The most important element that will serve to ensure the continuity of a work of art as a cultural asset is to raise and spread the awareness of protection. Only in this way will cultural continuity and forward transmission be possible.
