ÇANKIRI YÖRESİNDE EL VERME GELENEĞİ VE BAKIR BASMASI HASTALIĞININ ALAZLAMA YÖNTEMİ İLE TEDAVİ EDİLMESİ

“Giving hand” is an ancient tradition based on the spiritual assignment, bringing somebody in ability and granting authorization. There are two aspects of this tradition to the Turkish culture and the Turkish faith. One of these aspects is the sufistic mentoring and the other one is the folkloric medicine or therapeutic use. While the sheikhs of the religious orders grant authority to continue the disciplines and practices after them or even still alive, traditional healers also transfer their knowledge to others by “giving hand”. In this article, the cultural importance of the method used in the treatment of “bakır basması” disease, a practice which is still being kept alive in the Çankırı province, will be evaluated.

El verme geleneği tarihi çok eskilere dayanan manevi görevlendirme, liyakat kazandırma ve icazet verme geleneğidir. Bu geleneğin Türk kültürüne ve Türk inanç sistemine bakan iki yönü vardır. Bunlardan bir tanesi tasavvufi mürşitlik yönü, diğeri ise halk hekimliği ve tedavi edici yönüdür. Tarikat şeyhleri kendilerinden sonra ya da yaşadıkları dönemde tarikatı ve tarikatın öğretilerini devam ettirmeleri için icazet verirken, halk hekimleri de kendi bilgi birikimlerini yine el verme yoluyla başkalarına aktarmaktadır. Makalemizde Çankırı yöresinde el verme geleneğine bağlı olarak yaşatılan “bakır basması” hastalığının tedavi yöntemi ve halk kültürü için önemi değerlendirilmeye çalışılacaktır.
