Saha Turks, of course, may included in Turkish communities having established a rich belief system. However, the fact that they began to use writing in later periods and the geography in which they were found had been opened to outside injluences, mainly to emigrations within the time has caused certain changes to be lived in their belief system. The belief system and culture of Saha Turks living in exile lands of Tsarist Russia have been tried to be examined and understood by Russian exiles, missioners about three centuries ago. As a result of the fact that Saha Turks furnished the cosmos in which they are found with good and bad gods, many beings defined demonologically have existed in their belief systems. One of the bad beings is üör into which man is to transform upon committing suicide. Badness creates badness and that a human being commits suicide is one of the biggest sins for Saha Turks. The belieft and narratives about this evi! being named as üör have been discussed in Saha folk culture and have reached our day. in the article, we are going to try to emphasize on the belieft on üör and the evolution incurred by this belief item within the time.
