While some of there poems discuss death ıvith its various aspects, some have been written to mention characteristics of the dead person(s) and express the sadness felt because of death. ln suji poetry, death is difef rently perceived and regarded as a means of union rather than separation. Orally recited during funeral ceremonies in pre-lslamic period, sagos have maintained their stylistic ejfects in both elegies and coronachs afier the adoption of Jslam. Reciting the poem from the dead person 's mouth and using questions have remained a common stylistic feature of elegies and coronachs. The basic difference between coronachs and elegies is that coronachs are more traditional in form and content.
