Tuta absoluta (Meyrick, 1917) (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae)’nın Yumurta Bırakma Davranışına Farklı Uçucu Yağların Etkisi

Öz

Domates (Solanum lycopersicum L.) üretim potansiyeli çok yüksek olan en önemli sebzelerden biridir. Bununla birlikte içerdiği çeşitli vitaminler, organik maddeler ve mineraller ile insan sağlığı ve beslenmesi açısından oldukça önemlidir. Üretimi sırasında üretimi doğrudan veya dolaylı olarak etkileyebilecek önemli zararlılar kaydedilmiştir. Bu zararlılar içerisinden domates yaprak galeri güvesi Tuta absoluta (Meyrick, 1917) (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae) günümüzde domatesin ana zararlısı olarak belirlenmiştir. Bu çalışmada biberiye, yayla kekiği, okaliptüs ve zencefil uçucu yağlarının T. absoluta’nın yumurta bırakma davranışı üzerindeki etkisi araştırılmıştır. Yapılan çalışma sonucunda uçucu yağların zararlıya karşı uzaklaştırıcı etki indeksleri sırasıyla 22.11, 52.54, 21.61, 59.09 olarak kaydedilmiştir. Uçucu yağlardan biberiye, yayla kekiği, okaliptüs ve zencefil yağlarının uygulandığı domates bitkilerinde, kontrol bitkilerine oranla daha az yumurtanın bırakıldığı görülmüştür. Bu çalışma sonucunda biberiye, yayla kekiği, okaliptüs ve zencefil uçucu yağların T. absoluta’nın ergin bireyleri üzerinde uzaklaştırıcı etkisinin olması sebebiyle alternatif mücadele yöntemleri içerisinde kullanılabileceği öngörülmektedir.

Effects of Different Essential Oils on Oviposition Behavior of Tuta absoluta (Meyrick, 1917) (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae)

Öz

Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) is one of the most important vegetables with a very high production potential. However, with its various vitamins, organic substances and minerals, it is very important in human health and nutrition. Significant pests have been recorded during production, which may affect production directly or indirectly. Among these pests, tomato leaf miner Tuta absoluta (Meyrick, 1917) (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae) has been identified as the main pest of tomato today. In this study, the effect of rosemary, upland thyme, eucalyptus and ginger essential oils on the egg laying behavior of T. absoluta was investigated. As a result of the study, the repellent index (RI) of essential oils against pests were recorded as 22.11, 52.54, 21.61, 59.09, respectively. It was observed that fewer eggs were released in tomato plants in which essential oils of rosemary, higland thyme, eucalyptus and ginger were applied compared to control plants. As a result of this study, it is predicted that the essential oils of rosemary, highland thyme, eucalyptus and ginger can be used to control T. absoluta due to the repellent effect of on adults in terms of alternative management methods.
