This study deals with the corporate governance structures and practices in Turkey of the “Open Access Archive (OAA)” organizations based on the understanding of "Open Science" developing in the world and Turkey between the years of 2004 and 2018. Open Access (OA) organizations in Turkey and the contents of the governance structures, corporate structures, policies, network interactions, strategies and governance model structures were addressed in the study, and the governance performances of these organizations were evaluated with the scale developed originally to conduct the fieldwork. The study design (model) was developed with the inspiration of the 7S model of McKinsey Institute.
In this study, the “description method ”was used to reveal and explain the reasons of the behaviors of the sample group in the research area. The data of the study consist of published literature and field study about Open Access in the world and in Turkey. The research population of the study was comprised of 146, and the research sample group consisted of 97 Corporate Open Archive (COA) organizations. In the data analysis, the study data were subjected to factor analysis including multiple regression, and the relationship between the results of the statistical analysis of the obtained data and the dependent and descriptive variables of the data, and the confidence interval and validity of the Corporate Open Access scale in the form of the originally developed five-point Likert model were measured. A model proposal was introduced for the governance structures of the Corporate Open Access organizations in Turkey through the study. The findings of the study were presented as suggestions by discussing the original values obtained in the study.
